Remember Jack Wilshere's 'little injury setback'... turns out it was more serious than that

The midfielder is set to undergo surgery today.

LAST WEEK, ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger told the assembled media that Jack Wilshere had suffered “a little setback” in his predicted return from a leg injury picked up in pre-season.

However, it emerged today that the England international may require surgery on a hairline fracture of his left leg and will be sidelined for a significant period of time.

It is believed any potential operation will take place in the coming days with the club reported to have already taken the decision to have the procedure carried out.

Arsenal are already without Danny Welbeck until at least Christmas following knee surgery.
